SESERI International Bowling, Speech Competitions & Science Carnival 2015



8 - 11 SEPTEMBER 2015


1.0   INTRODUCTION
 Seri  Puteri  Science  Secondary School (SESERI) Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, located right in the heart of  the city   is organizing  its second International Speech Competition. Public Speaking (English Language) and Pidato (Malay Language)  have been  SESERI’s niche area (ethos) for the past 4 years.  It is hoped that this  competition will provide  a  good avenue  for local and overseas students to unleash their potential  in public speaking

2.0   BOWLING
 A tenpin bowling friendly competition  for U-18,  comprising  a  team of 4 bowlers in male and female categories, will play 3 games each. This tournament will be held  at The Cosmic bowl  Mid Valley  Megamall, KL. The winners will be judged   based  on   their   highest  cumulative score.

3.0   PUBLIC SPEAKING (English Language)
Each school has to send one participant (male/female) for  public speaking competition  aged  between 16-17 years.  The aim is to showcase  student’s public speaking skills. The competition consists of  6  minutes prepared speech  (free topic)  and 3 minutes Impromptu speech (topic  will be given  4 minutes  in advance).

4.0   PIDATO (Malay language)
Each school  has to send one participant (male/female) for Pidato (Malay Language) competition  aged  between 16-17 years. The competition consists of   6 minutes Prepared Speech (based on a given theme)   and 4 minutes Impromptu speech (topic will be chosen by the participant  from a sealed envelope). 

5.0   SCIENCE CARNIVAL
Science carnival will be held at Faculty of Engineering , University Malaya , Kuala Lumpur . Each school has to send two participant (male/female) for inovation presentation and exhiition and will be judged according to the contents , benefit s to society and presentation skills.

6.0   GAMES/ ACTIVITIES
International traditional games / activities
An ice breaking session for  foreign participants to interact, learn and exchange ideas and information about a country’s  unique traditional games or activities.

7.0   SOCIAL EVENT
        i) International Night Dinner
          A special occasion  to foster good ties and promote one’s colourful and beautiful  traditional outfits .  
        ii) Cultural Showcase
          A day where foreign participants will showcase their talent in traditional dance or singing performance.

8.0   ATTIRE
      i. Bowling Competition :
         T-shirt/jersey (individual school  t-shirts)

      ii. Public speaking/Petah Bicara:
          School uniform

      iii. Learning journey (trips)
           T-shirt (provided by the organizer)

9.0   GENERAL INFORMATION

INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPANTS
  1. Each school  is  encouraged to bring souvenirs to  exchange with other  participants   after the closing ceremony.
  2.  Participants are required to bring traditional games / items for International traditional games/ activities.
  3. Participants are required to wear  formal attire during International Night.
  4.  Each international school is encouraged to put up a 5-10 minutes performance/cultural show during the closing ceremony.
LOCAL PARTICIPANTS
  1. Each school  is  encouraged to bring souvenirs to  exchange among participants after the closing ceremony.
  2.  Each school  is required to provide  their own transport on the day of the competitions.
10.0   REGISTRATION FEES

1. Package GOLD:
    INTERNATIONAL school that flies from abroad;inclusive of airport transfer, meals, lodging, learning journey           (trips), entrance tickets to interesting places, t-shirt, competitions and a certificate of participation:USD160.44      /RM 500.00 per person.                               

2. Package SILVER:
    INTERNATIONAL and LOCAL schools inclusive of competitions, meals (2xlunch, 2xbreakfast) t-shirt and a           certificate of participation, WITHOUT lodging and learning journey (trips)RM 100.00 per  person

11.0   Confirmation of participation by: 18th of May 2015
          Deadline for payment: 24th of August 2015
